  • We specialize in anxiety, stress management, ADHD/executive functioning, and life transitions. We also support parents who are seeking strategies to improve communication, reduce conflict, and better understand their children’s needs.

  • Yes. While we do not provide stand-alone executive function coaching, we integrate executive functioning skill development into therapy sessions when it supports your goals. This can include strategies for organization, time management, focus, and planning, in the context of your overall mental health care.

  • Executive function coaching typically focuses on skill-building and accountability without addressing underlying mental health concerns. At Capital City Psychology, we do not offer coaching. Instead, we incorporate executive function support into therapy when appropriate — so you benefit from both skill-building and the deeper work of managing anxiety, stress, or other challenges.

If you’re a working mom looking for executive function skill support and coaching rather than therapy, please check out my other business, Empowered Focus, for more support. We offer courses, group coaching, and workshops tailored to the needs of midlife working moms struggling with executive function challenges. No diagnosis needed. Please know that coaching is NOT therapy.

    • Mindfulness & stress management techniques

    • Executive functioning coaching & visual supports

We adapt to each client’s needs — there’s no one-size-fits-all.

  • Parent therapy and coaching is support and guidance tailored specifically for parents, focusing on strategies around behavior, communication, boundaries, stress, and more. I work with parents of children of all ages, including those with adult children with disabilities. We determine on your consultation call if therapy or coaching is a better fit. Therapy is generally chosen if parenting is causing significant distress for you to the level of medical necessity (this is the level required in order to use insurance). Coaching is not covered by insurance. We can talk about the nuances on your call.

    • Sessions are 53-55 minutes.

    • If you plan to use insurance, please call the member services number on the back of your insurance card regarding the use of insurance for outpatient mental health therapy and the details of your plan (e.g., your deductible, copays, etc.) prior to your first appointment.

    • For those in-network, we submit claims shortly after your session and then let you know when they are processed if you owe any portion of the fee.

    • If we are not in-network for your insurance, we offer an option for self-pay. The self-pay fee is $225 per session for those paying the same day.

    • For self-pay clients, after each session we can provide a superbill (itemized receipt with insurance codes) you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement (if your plan allows).
